Charleston Slough, Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve, Thursday, November 14, 2019

Many thanks to Edward Rooks, naturalist and Paintsites artist, for leading the North Bay paint site this Thursday. The Charleston Slough, situated on the beautiful Palo Alto Baylands,  is a perfect location for panoramic views of marshland habitat as well as the distant East Bay Hills and the Santa Cruz Mountains to the west. The large ponds, Adobe Creek and Casey Forebay are all effected by the tides and provide excellent habitat for overwintering and migrating birds.

For more information about the area, visit: https://www.mountainview.gov/depts/cs/shoreline/explore/ecosystems.asp
