Spina Farms, San Jose, Thursday, October 21, 2021

Fortunately the weather forecasters were mistaken and Thursday painters were rewarded with a warm and partly cloudy day at Spina Farms. The farm had a wide range of activities to keep both preschoolers and grown ups occupied. We had an amazing turnout, thirteen painters, (Bill, Brad, Janice, Dick, Salinda, Helen, Lisha, Iris, Claudia, Jayne, Laurie, Kris and Alison) and we painted pumpkins, corn maze, sunflowers and happy goblins! ~Alison

"My focus was to try mixing greys from a triad, red, blue and yellow.  Luckily this site had a large variety of colors and types of pumpkins, and there were many grey pumpkins to paint.  They also had them arranged beautifully.  In Ikebana, (Japanese flower arranging), there is a style called “Morimono”.  It means arranging fruits and or vegetables, with or without flowers in a pleasing way.  Someone at Queen’s Pumpkin Patch has a good sense of this style as there were many clusters or Morimono’s there."

Japanese Friendship Garden/Happy Hallow Zoo, San Jose, Thursday, September 23, 2021

Brad, Janice, Candy, Lora, Alison and Marni played hooky from painting and enjoyed the animals, artwork and kiddie rides at Happy Hollow.

The Friendship Garden and Happy Hollow lived up to their names as we had a howling good time and had a nice lunch with friends in the picnic grounds.

Our enthusiasm was not Drag-on and we  appreciated the mascots of Happy Hollow.
